Rita's Sign

While taking break from work and Virginia Beach, I ventured out to New York with my wife to retrieve some furniture. During my trip to New York, I met some wonderful and interesting people. Of those interesting people, I met Rita Digesu (above photograph). Rita, a friend of my wife's parents let us stay at their newly renovated ranch house in beautiful Laurel, New York. I got the opportunity to sit down with Rita as she told many wonderful stories. One in particular was the story of her "sign" to buy their new house. To make a long story short. While doing a walk through of the house with her husband, Rita walked outside to the back yard and found a soccer ball wedged between the limbs of this tree. AS SOON as she saw it, she took this as a sign that this house was filled with strong family vibes and that the family before them were able to turn a house into a home. Rita wanted to make this house into her home. Since purchasing the house Rita has never moved the ball from the spot where she first found it. She leaves that ball there like a statue to remind her why she purchased her home.
